Whether you’re looking to escape the hubbub of the city, a simple change of scenery, or a place to gather with friends or family, Granum just may be the destination you are looking for. Granview Recreation Park is our sanctuary that we share with campers from around North America, and even beyond. Attached to the park is the Homesteader which is popular for gatherings such as family or school reunions. It is partially enclosed with a full kitchen. Just west of the of the Park is the Par 3 Golf course and Golf Country Club.
So after a few rounds of golf, take a walk around our little town. Visit the Old Jail and Museum, grab your gas and a few groceries at JP’s Petro and General Store. Later at the end of a relaxing day, you can get a comfortable bed to sleep in at the Long Branch Inn.
More About Granum Community
Population: 406 (2016)
In its early years, the Granum Community thrived as a grain terminal for area growers. The town had a railway station right on the main street which is still called Railway Ave to this day. As time passed, the stockyards and grain elevators were dismantled, and the Town became a quieter place.
As Alberta’s smallest Town, Granum has seen rejuvenated population growth in recent years (increase of 10% since 2000) owing to its location on Highway 2. Granum is an easy commute to Fort Macleod to the south and Claresholm to the north and Lethbridge to the east. Affordable housing and a popular park are key attractions such as a trout pond which is stocked yearly. A school, recreation centre, golf course, and outdoor fitness park cater to growing families. Accessibility has also nurtured a growing retirement community.
