Message From The Mayor & Council

We would like to thank all the volunteers who worked so tirelessly to make Canada Day and the Gospel Jamboree a success. We also appreciate all the town support we have had in these endeavours. We’ve had a good summer so Thank You one and all.

The drainage part of the Lagoon project is done and the armouring has begun. If all goes well, we are hoping to have the entire project completed within the next week.

The street drainage and sidewalks should start shortly. These repairs consist of wheelchair ramps put in around the school, churches and town buildings. There are a few sections of road which will be repaired as well as sidewalks.

The process for updating the Rec Centre is still ongoing and we hope to be a contract bid awarded in September.

We are getting together a program for tree maintenance around town with a five-year plan to take care of the issues we have with the trees.

We would also like to continue to remind everyone about the fire ban. The fire ban includes all open fires, fire pits, burning barrels, fireworks and recreational fires, etc. Fires are also banned in all campgrounds until the ban is lifted. The ban excludes gas or propane stoves/barbeques and portable propane fire pits.

We would also like to remind everyone about keeping their properties neat and tidy as winter will sneak up on us before we know it and we want to be prepared for it.

The Municipal Election is coming up shortly. Dates are as follows:
