CANADA DAY
July 1st, celebrates Canada’s birthday, and Granum loves to celebrate with family, friends and lots of fun. The day generally starts at 7:30 am with a pancake and sausage breakfast, followed by a parade around the Town and planned activities. The Granum Fire Department joins in the fun by displaying their many talents. The children get a great kick out of watching their heroes close up and in uniform. There is free birthday cake and fireworks to wrap up the day.

CHRISTMAS "LIGHT UP THE PARK"
It has become a tradition in Granum the Granview Park is lit up with lights during the Christmas season. In late November, hopefully a warm day, volunteers come out to decorate the trees and bushes around the park. With Santa on the hill overlooking the Pond. In December the Recreation Board organizes a Sleigh Ride that takes you from the Drop-In Center, through the park and around Town to view all the Christmas lights and decorations. Back at the Drop-In Center everyone warms up with doughnuts and hot chocolate.

TOWN GARAGE SALE
The Town Garage Sale is an annual event held in May and organized by the Town. Those who plan to have a garage sale register with the Town. Advertisements are sent out to the local newspaper so that it is known throughout the southern Alberta countryside. A map is published, and balloons handed out to the registrants so that everyone clearly knows who is have a sale. It’s like a great big party as Granum becomes a beehive of activity. It’s so much fun just to watch the people buying and selling treasures, people wandering the streets and admiring the flowers that are starting to bloom.
