Granum, formally known as Leavings, is a small Town steeped in History. It is about adventurous hard working people who lived through challenging times. It was a community of note at the turn of the century as it made the short list as one of the possible sites of the Province’s capital, Edmonton, Calgary and Fort Macleod being the other candidates. Today Granum boasts being the smallest, by population, town in Alberta. As of the last census the population hit an all-time high of 445 people. Through the years we have seen the businessmen and volunteers of this community take fantastic possibilities and turn them into solid reality, from George Wesley’s White Sox to in more recent years the forethought design & construction of both the Granum Park and Golf Course.
